The spine is the central vertebral column providing for mobility and integrity of the trunk. Many yoga poses, especially back bends and twists, require flexibility in our spinal joints that are largely influenced by skeletal and bone shape variations. Common conditions such as scoliosis, arthritis and 'slipped discs' may require modifications in yoga practice. This workshop aims to equip students with a clear understanding of spinal anatomy to learn how to work the spine safely in yin yoga. Students will also practise together a guided Yin Yoga sequence that works the spine in a balanced way.
